John Bribriesco was born in Davenport, Iowa and grew up in Bettendorf, where he lived and raised his four daughters. He has lived in Davenport for many years. He graduated from Assumption High School, Marycrest College and the Iowa College of Law at the University of Iowa.
Mr. Bribriesco began his adult working career as a laborer and union representative at International Harvester in East Moline Illinois, where he worked for 12 years. As an attorney since 1978, he has served as a Judicial Magistrate in Scott County, a prosecuting attorney, a Juvenile Court Attorney in the Scott County Attorney's office, and has had a general law practice for over 35 years. He has served on a Board for the Bi-State Metropolitan Planning Commission that gives loans to small businesses. He has also served as legal counsel for the League of United Latin American Citizen's (LULAC) local council.
Mr. Bribriesco is admitted to practice in the states of Iowa and Florida, The United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Scott County Bar Association and the Florida State Bar Association.

Mr. Bribriesco formerly served as a Judicial Magistrate in the Iowa Associate District Court in Scott County. He was also an Assistant Scott County Attorney.
